Toddler Education

The Sacred Heart Preschool Toddler curriculum centers on principles of early childhood education, combining aspects of both the Montessori and International Baccalaureate teaching and learning approaches. Faculty and staff work together to foster the growth and education of each child in preparation for an easy transition to our Montessori and IB preschool programs at age three. Children aged one-two are interested in the world around them and learn by observation, exploration and experimentation. SHP nurtures the child’s natural curiosity with fun, differentiated opportunities rooted in research-tested best practices involving hands-on activities set to engage all five senses.

Our Toddler curriculum includes math, language arts, science, music, art, creative movement (including yoga) and plenty of time for creative play and socialization. At the heart of the Toddler experience is the development of your child’s independence, gross and fine motor skills, and self-esteem. Our interactive indoor spaces and outdoor playground provide a safe place for exploration and fun.

Teachers have a Child Development Associate credential, associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or related field and continuing education is required of all faculty.
