Sacred Heart Preschool is excited to announce that Kim Washle will return to campus full-time as the Director of Sacred Heart Preschool on May 1, 2025, and that long-time preschool teacher, Laura Timpe, will move to Assistant Director for Curriculum.
Ms. Washle served as Assistant Director of SHP from 2013 to 2022, where, in partnership with the Director, she supervised and maintained the integrity of the preschool program in all aspects. She quickly jumped back into the role this spring, and her leadership made a positive impact throughout the building from the start. Ms. Washle is eager to work with the faculty to empower them to collaborate with leadership and will implement a different structure to the leadership paradigm. Moving forward, there will be one Assistant Director for Curriculum and a teacher from each age level who will serve as the curriculum coach for her team.
"It is an honor to become the Director of Sacred Heart Preschool. It is an opportunity I embrace with gratitude, humility, and purpose. My leadership will be rooted in collaboration, respect, and commitment to continued growth for our students, faculty, staff, and our community. I look forward to continuing to develop and nurture our youngest learners in a safe, imaginative, and inquiry-based environment where our students can thrive. I am excited about the future of SHP!"
Ms. Timpe has taught our young students at Sacred Heart Preschool for 21 years. Before joining our Sacred Heart community, she served as the Assistant Director at St. Ignatius Child Development Center and as a preschool teacher at St. John Vianney Catholic School. Ms. Timpe is a certified Montessori teacher, holds a Child Development Accreditation, and has completed IB training.
She said, “Working with children is my true passion. I believe that it is our responsibility to nurture our youngest learners to be independent, kind, and confident individuals. Over the years, my students have brought me endless joy, laughter, and lessons in love. As a lifelong Catholic, my faith plays a central role in my life. I understand the value of a Catholic education, and I am committed to living and modeling our core values of Reverence, Leadership, Service, and Community.”
