Mystery Readers from Across Campus Visit Sacred Heart Preschool

Tell Me A Story......

Students in the Willow Room at Sacred Heart Preschool enjoyed a string of special visitors throughout March as several members of Sacred Heart Schools’ Office of Administrative Services (OAS) stopped by to be surprise book readers for the day.
The SHS staff were invited to the Willow Room in Angela Hall by teacher Ms. Tameka Ewing. Her three-year-old students loved meeting their special mystery guests! Ms. Tameka’s goal was to strengthen our campus core value of Community and bring together diverse groups across campus to visit the preschool.

We have parents in and out of the classroom daily, reading, making playdough, sharing baby photos, and such, but I thought, what if the president of the campus came and read a story? What if the head of Security/Maintenance had some locks and keys to show us how they work? What if someone read or taught us a new prayer? What if someone has a green thumb and wants to plant some flowers? There are endless things to do with the children,” said Tameka Ewing.

Special thanks to SHS President Dr. Karen McNay, SHS Vice President for Advancement Tina Miller Kauffmann ‘84, SHS Vice President for Mission and Community Mia Cooper, SHS Vice President for Operations Paul Kichler, and many more staff who took time to relax and meet our tiniest students on campus. The grownups loved reading to the kiddos, and a few even brought along some flowers and crafts and art projects to enjoy together. It was the perfect way to kick off a bright spring season!
