SHP COVID-19 Guidelines

- The state of Kentucky has now adopted the new CDC guidelines requiring only 10 days of quarantine for individuals who have been identified as being exposed to Covid-19 and exhibit no symptoms.
- Additionally, an exposed individual may only quarantine for seven days if they exhibit no symptoms AND have a negative Covid test taken on or after day five of their exposure.
- The state is still recommending 14 days if the exposed individual will be around people that are considered high-risk.
July 24, 2020 Update |
Sacred Heart Preschool has implemented changes in our program, classrooms, and routines, in order to comply with the Division of Regulated Child Care (DRCC) Emergency Regulations for the safe reopening of schools. While these changes may be inconvenient, we are hoping they will be temporary, and we will be able to return to our normal programming one day soon. The current regulations mandate that groups cannot combined in the afternoon. We are doing our best to comply with those regulations and still offer our afterschool care. To bring our children and faculty back to SHP in the safest way, we are implementing the following changes:
HOURS: Please note: There will be NO EARLY MORNING (7:00am drop off)
AFTERSCHOOL will extend only to 4:30pm. We understand the challenge that this may bring to our families. However, this will allow our faculty to remain with their students for the duration of the day and eliminate the number of different staff who would be entering the classrooms in the afternoon. If and when restrictions are lifted, we will re-evaluate and extend the afterschool program when it is safe to do so. If you are enrolled in either of those programs, your contracts will be adjusted to reflect the changes.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:
CARPOOL: Carpool times: 8:15-8:45am (morning drop-off) 12:30-12:45 pm (for Half Day students) 2:30-2:45 pm (for School Day students) 4:15-4:45 pm (for all extended day students)
Please see the attached map for the ROUTE and instructions. Your child will be assigned a carpool number to display on your rearview mirror. Children will need to arrive during the carpool times. If you miss the carpool, you will need to call the school 502-896-3941, and a staff member will come out to (receive or bring) your child as soon as we can. If your child needs to be picked up early for an appointment, they will need to be picked up at one of the earlier carpool times. Please notify Kim Washle via email so we have it in writing. ALL contact information must be updated.
MEET and GREET: You will receive a scheduled time and date August 5-7th to drop off your classroom supplies and meet your classroom teachers. This is not our traditional method, but one that we feel will be the best way to meet you. Your teachers will also connect virtually to welcome you to their classroom community.
2020-21 SHP COVID Addendum: Social Distancing:
Carpool and Leaving School
Screening and Illness:
Although things will be different this school year, SHP is committed to providing a holistic education while keeping our children safe and healthy. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.

July 13, 2020 Update |
Below please find the current (as of July 13, 2020) overview of the health and safety measures Sacred Heart Preschool will be implementing for the safe reopening of school, addressing how we will protect our students, staff, families, and personnel from the spread of Covid-19. In order to comply with the Division of Child Care (DCC) Emergency Regulations for the reopening of child care centers, we have had to reduce our enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year. Sacred Heart Preschool was at full enrollment for the 2020-21 school year prior to these Emergency Regulations. The new maximum group size mandated by the State requires us to reduce our capacity by 40%. We have reconfigured classrooms and set up temporary dividers in adherence with the new guidelines to safely provide placement for as many of our students as possible.
Please note the following information:
Teachers and staff will be implementing all health and safety protocol as directed by the DCC throughout the day.
Each student will need the following supplies: * Complete change of clothes including shoes (Everything must be labeled) |
